Expanding Earth flash animation

Earth expansion has caused continental drift

This simple flash animation graphically shows how much the Earth has expanded from 200 million years ago to the present day. As the Earth expands, South America and Africa move away from each other in the southern hemisphere and North America moves away from Europe in the northern hemisphere. The Atlantic Ocean grows in size to fill the widening space in between the continents. This process is similar all around the world.

For honesty's sake, I want to say up front that I'm more of a Solid Earth, plate tectonics kind of guy.

Now, having said that, I do find your idea fascinating, particularly since At the Earth's Core and Journey to the Center of the Earth were two of my favorite books growing up (as it happens, your hollow earth drawing is very reminiscent of Burroughs' Pellucidar; I got all nostalgic just looking at it.

Right, I need to get to the reason I commented! I was looking at your expanding Earth idea, and a question occurred to me. You state at one point that the oceans did not exist before 200 million years ago, seeing as the Earth was just too small back then.

200 million years ago was the border between the Triassic and Jurassic periods, but the fossil record shows the existence of a myriad of organisms all the way back to the Cambrian period over 500 million years ago, and the vast majority of these organisms, from the 3-inch Opabinia to the 30-foot Dunkleosteus, lived in the water.

Assuming there were no oceans before 200 million years ago, where did these guys live?

There were oceans on Earth 200 million years ago, just like the evidence suggests, there was just no oceanic crust. The Earth was much smaller 200 million years ago, the continent landmasses were joined on all sides forming a complete crust around the Earth, the oceans were on top of the continents.

I like to have found a website that more accurately tie the two parts together - Hollow Earth and expanding earth. I believe in expanding earth, and have always believed in Hollow earth, the Hollow earth fact, is the only way for expanding earth to function. This is one correlation that non of the critics to expanding earth theory will never speak of, maybe since it perfectly explains it.
